Victorian Filigree Skeleton Key Earrings

I designed these victorian style filigree skeleton key earrings using old skeleton keys and vintage gold plated filigree findings. I was lucky enough to find a pair of mini matching skeleton keys at an antique store in Chesapeake, Va.

The keys have a lovely patina of rust and one seems to have a little bit of blue paint left on it. The filigree connectors hold the keys in place and dangle delicately from copper earring wires. The earrings measure about 1 and 1/2 inches long not including the earring wires.
